Unit 3 All about films
1．We can report what someone said with a reporting verb， in the past tense. We usually put the verbs in the statements in the past tense， too.传话（转述他人的话）要用过去时态，转述词也要用过去时态。如：
上星期一在Julia的书房，Julia和Judy在讨论各自喜欢的动画。

Julia： Dinosaur Jungle is my favorite. Judy： My favorite is Tom and Jerry.

今天在操场上，Judy见到Kitty，又说起喜欢的动画，Judy转述Julia的话。

Judy： Julia said that Dinosaur Jungle was her favorite.

Kitty： Really? I like Dinosaur Jungle， too.

2．We can use many verbs to report statements.here are some：转述词有很多，如：complain， explain， mention， whisper， report， say， shout， add， reply， admit.(中文：抱怨，解释，提及，悄悄地说，汇报，说，大喊，又说，回答，承认)
注意：

1.say 后面的that经常会省略。

2.人称代词经常需要变化，以保证所指的是同一个人。

3.如果转述的是客观事实，时态不做变化，如：

对话：

--Tom： Beijing is hot in summer. --Tim： Yes， it is.

转述Tom的话：

--Tim： Tom complained that Beijing is hot in summer.

--Judy： Yes， it really is.

3．We report yes/no questions with asked followed by if or whether. 转述的是yes/no问话时，在转述词asked后加上if，whether（是否）。
对话：

--Julia： Do you want any money? --Judy： Yes. How much can you give me?

转述Julia的话：

--Judy： Julia asked if I wanted some money.

--Kitty： Really? She is so helpful.

4．We report wh-questions with asked followed by a question word. The word order changes like a statement， and there is no “?“at the end. 转述的是特殊问话时，在转述词asked后加上疑问词。句子删除使用额外的助动词如do，did，does等，也不再用疑问号在末尾。
Julia： Do you want any money? Judy： Yes. How much can you give me?

Judy： Julia asked if I wanted some money.

Kitty： Really? She is so helpful.

Judy： And I asked how much money she could give me.
练习：请转述以下说话。
1．Roddy： I really want to a director.(admitted)
2．Julia： The wave seemed to crash our car. (said)
3．Julia： I almost jumped out of my skin (said)
4．Juddy： I acted in my first hollywood film.(cried大叫)
5．The director asked roddy： “Where are you from?“
6．The director asked roddy： “Are you a student?“
7．The director asked roddy： “Can you understand me?“
8．The director asked roddy： “Are you ready?“
9．The director asked roddy： “Do you know what to do?“
10．The director asked roddy： “When will you go back to guangzhou?“
